....How to Tell You Need T1 Service.....
....How to Tell You Need T1 Service..... Is it time to look for T1 service? Many people are confused when they consider whether to upgrade from DSL or not. There are several factors to consider when examining you current DSL connection and the possiblity of replacing it. For many people the biggest factor is reliability and if reliability is critical to the applications you run over your connection you should seriously consider replacing your DSL connection with a T1. DSL is a quick and cost effective method of acquiring high speed bandwidth however it is not intended to support commercial applications or large numbers of users as are T1 connections.Reliability becomes critical when customers or employees depend on your connection for immediate responses.
If your customers use your connection to access your databases or your server or the internet then reliability of your connection is critical. If your employees depend on your connections because you host the e-mail server in house or host web servers or ASP type products, your connections is considered critical. A critical connection can be viewed much like a lifeline, without which your business would be negatively impacted. Your monthly savings of having a sub-par connections will not make up for the loss in productivity of your employees or loss of customers when your DSL connections gets bogged down or cut off. To reiterate, ciritcal connections should be supported with a T1.Many customers are extremely price sensitive and cannot afford the cost of a T1 which can be as much as 20 times more expensive than a DSL connection (although prices have come down drastically in recent months).
Residential customers who are most sensitive to price should not consider a T1 circuit unless then have a business reason to pay for such a circuit and cannot access DSL service. Most people don't realize that a DSL connection can be just as fast as a T1 at 1.5Mbps. The shortcoming of DSL is that it is oversubscribed. This means there is a finite amount of bandwidth available and a customers speed can drop if other customers in the neighborhood decide to use their service. SDSL (Synchronous DSL) is a business class DSL and is ranked as a higher priority than residential DSL or ADSL (Asunchronous DSL).
This means it is not oversubscribed to the extent than ADSL and is subject to fewer bandwidth restrictions. In short, if price is your critical factor go with DSL. If reliability is the critical factor purchase a dedicated T1..
FCC Ruling on DSL Re-Monopolizes Phone Networks Says California ISPs
SACRAMENTO, CA (ContentDesk) August 8, 2005 -- The California ISP Association (CISPA), the largest state association of Internet service providers, reacted today to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission's ruling today that high-speed DSL Internet lines should be classified as an "information service" instead of a telecommunications service. The ruling would allow large phone companies to close their DSL networks and exclude independent ISP's from the DSL market. The result is that most ISPs would be eliminated from the broadband market."The FCC's version of what it calls "deregulation" is simply just a re-monopolization of a network that has been publicly regulated and paid for by rate payers for more than 100 years. This is not leveling the DSL playing field.
The FCC is putting a fence around the playing field and giving the keys to a few phone companies with armies of paid lobbyists, letting the phone companies decide who can play in the broadband game.Consumers and businesses...

DSL Internet is a Simple and Easy Way to get Fast Internet Service
DSL ? which stands for Digital Subscriber Line ? is a great way to get high-speed internet service, without having to get a cable modem, or live in an area that has cable lines. DSL providers have very fast and comparatively cheap internet connectivity. To explain DSL, it is a way to enjoy high-speed internet using your telephone line, just as you would for dial up. Except that it has so many more advantages than a regular internet service could provide. Have a look at some of the great ways that DSL internet can benefit your home or business:- With a DSL installation, you can keep your internet connection open, and still use the same telephone line for phone calls; both incoming and outgoing.- The internet speed that you can obtain with a quality DSL provider is much greater than that of a regular dial-up modem. To compare, you can get an average of 1.5 Mbps with a DSL modem, as opposed to only 56 Kbps with a dial-up connection (that's 10 times faster!).- DSL connection doesn't necessarily...

How To Resolve Cable,DSL,and Dialup Modem Problems
Copyright 2006 Otis Cooper
When it comes to diagnosing the modem and any other computer problem, always start with the most obvious first.Modem problems may be repaired as fast as re-booting the computer or can be as complex as resolving hardware conflicts.
First remember to check for the most obvious signs of trouble, such as loose connections at the rear of the computer for external modems.
Internal modems may have their retaining screw at the expansion slot loose are missing.Phone line connections may simply be inserted in the wrong connector.
Nearly all internal modems are inserted into the PCI or Peripheral Component Interconnect slot in the system unit.
NO POWER AT THE MODEM
For Internal Modems, first try inserting the modem in a different PCI Slot.Reboot the computer and click on Start,Control Panel, and click the Phone And Modems icon if you have Windows XP as your operating system.

Mammoth Networks Creates Redundancy for Internet-Intensive Businesses
Casper, WY (ContentDesk) March 22, 2006 -- Mammoth Networks has created the ability for its Partners to deliver redundancy to Internet-intensive businesses.
Mammoth Partners can now use the company's network to provide backup data connections for their customers who already have an Internet connection.Service Providers can use Mammoth's private network to operate alongside an existing Internet connection, such as frame relay or T1.
These backup connections allows Service Providers to deliver their customer a redundant data connection in the event their primary connection is interrupted.
Because Mammoth allows Providers to create private networks using DSL, those Providers can deliver highly effective redundancy to a business.
Mammoth's network is built to support single location redundancy, or wide area network (WAN) redundancy.
Mammoth delivers control over the customer experience to the Provider."There are a number of businesses that stand...

Mammoth Networks Expands Wholesale DSL to Arizona, New Mexico
(ContentDesk) October 17, 2005 -- Mammoth Networks has expanded its wholesale Digital Subscriber Line service to Arizona and New Mexico.
The expansion allows the company to offer DSL through its Partners to 156 additional communities.Mammoth aggregates DSL in more than 600 cities in nine Western states, wholesaling network access to Service Providers that sell data connectivity.
The company's network supports the creation of private Wide Area Networks (WANs) throughout its coverage area.Mammoth allows its customers (termed Partners by the company) to connect Qwest DSL loops to the company's private network.
Because Partners can use Mammoth's network, they can justify expanding their coverage areas and are able to service a Partner's end users more effectively.
Without a wholesale option, Service Providers must order their own circuits within Qwest's territory, then build out a network to support their end users.
The cost of building out a private...
