Mammoth Networks Creates Redundancy for Internet-Intensive Businesses

Casper, WY (ContentDesk) March 22, 2006 -- Mammoth Networks has created the ability for its Partners to deliver redundancy to Internet-intensive businesses.
Mammoth Partners can now use the company's network to provide backup data connections for their customers who already have an Internet connection.Service Providers can use Mammoth's private network to operate alongside an existing Internet connection, such as frame relay or T1.
These backup connections allows Service Providers to deliver their customer a redundant data connection in the event their primary connection is interrupted.
Because Mammoth allows Providers to create private networks using DSL, those Providers can deliver highly effective redundancy to a business.
Mammoth's network is built to support single location redundancy, or wide area network (WAN) redundancy.

Mammoth delivers control over the customer experience to the Provider."There are a number of businesses that stand to lose thousands of dollars an hour without their Internet connection," said Brian Worthen, who oversees product development at Mammoth.
"Using our DSL network, Mammoth Partners can deliver redundancy to their customers for failover."Worthen explained that the company's DSL product is the perfect supplement to a frame relay or T1 connection.
Mammoth can deliver DSL to the business customer at the customer's router, meaning the DSL can be programmed as a hot failover to their existing Internet connection.
Also, because Mammoth allows the Partner to control the DSL loop, the Partner can be a single point of contact for their business customers, providing primary and backup Internet connections through separate and diverse paths."Businesses that rely on their connections have long pursued redundant networks," said Jeremy Malli, Mammoth's head of Network Operations.
"Our network, because it is so diverse, allows a Service Provider to be a one-stop shop for reliability."Typically, Internet-intensive businesses will purchase data connections from two different Providers to obtain redundancy.

According to Malli, this doesn't always allow those businesses to achieve their goals, requiring additional equipment to support a backup data connection.Mammoth Networks is an aggregator of data services serving nine Western states.
Mammoth enables its Partners by erasing the invisible lines of the telecommunications structure, and leveling the playing field for service providers.
The privately-held company is based in Gillette, Wyoming..

SBC DSL: A Good Choice for High Speed Internet

What is the best way for me to go about getting high speed internet in my house? I searched on line and through the yellow pages, only to find that there are an uncountable number of high speed internet options out there. However, as I sifted through all of the consumer sites and user reviews, I found that SBC DSL may, indeed, be the best bet for bringing high speed internet to my home office.
According to many a review, SBC DSL is the most reliable DSL service out there. They also happen to be the largest in many major metropolitan areas in the country, or at least those serviced by Southwestern Bell. SBC DSL has a spectacular reputation among consumers for having technologically advanced products, great customer service, and good competitive prices on their service. The only drawback I could find is that several SBC DSL customers found setting up a home network to be difficult.

However, by simply converting to wireless internet, you can solve that problem and still have...

"This is a testament to hard work put forth by the ILECs over the past couple years to improve the overall DSL service experience."Lumen Research Associates, LLC is a survey research company in Rockville, MD.

DSL Is Really Very Easy To Understand - Needs and Compatibility

Confused about DSL? So was I at one time! However, it is no big deal to get an understanding about what it is, how it works and how it compares to your other choices for getting high speed internet access.

Faster and faster dialup telephone modems were all the rage, until DSL and cable modems came about. We can laughingly look back at those old slow modems and the tell tale dialing sounds that you could hear as they attempted to log on.

You may also wonder why DSL needs a telephone connection. Simply put, the telephone company has special equipment in place to handle DSL traffic. Even though it operates on your existing telephone line, it does not interfere with your regular telephone service.
You will never know that DSL is operating in the background.

Once you upgrade, you will wonder why you ever bothered with the slow way.

You will equate it to walking backwards.

You will need a relatively newer computer...
